Entrepreneurship Is Not an Adventure, But Engineering!

• When Chaos Becomes a Method

In an increasingly complex world, entrepreneurship is often seen as a leap into the unknown, a rule-defying adventure. Young people are frequently told, “Start your project, don’t be afraid, risk is part of success!” But through my extensive experience in training, learning, and practicing entrepreneurship across various aspects of life—from work to the tiniest details—I see things from a completely different perspective. Entrepreneurship is not creative chaos, but precise engineering! It’s not an adventure, but a design! Not a leap, but a gradual construction.

When I began designing a training program for computer engineering students titled “Engineering Success,” the goal wasn’t to teach them how to take risks, but how to think like engineers while building their entrepreneurial projects. Each session had clear objectives, practical tools, and interactive activities that simulated real-life scenarios. Entrepreneurship, as we presented it, was a practiced science—not a stroke of luck waiting to happen!

• From Randomness to Design

An entrepreneur doesn’t walk in the dark—they draw their roadmap, even if it’s incomplete. In one training session, I asked participants to design a prototype for a tech project that serves the local community. The challenge wasn’t in the idea itself, but in the ability to analyze needs, define value, and test assumptions. Here, entrepreneurship transformed into engineering:

  • Problem analysis = Site survey
  • Solution design = Initial blueprint
  • Prototype testing = Material experimentation
  • Model refinement = Design improvement Just as an engineer works in their workshop, the entrepreneur works in their market!

• Entrepreneurial Tools Are No Less Precise Than Engineering Tools

In our project “Hawsa w Noss,” which aimed to redesign a traditional service in an innovative way, we didn’t rely on enthusiasm alone! We used audience analysis tools, user experience design, and resource planning. Every step was calculated and meticulously planned. From choosing the location to designing the visual identity, from building the team to managing the budget, from testing the idea to launching the prototype… This wasn’t an adventure—it was social and economic engineering, built on understanding, planning, and experimentation.

• Unconventional Engineering

Entrepreneurship is a special kind of engineering:

  • Engineering opportunities—how they’re discovered and shaped
  • Engineering value—how it’s created and delivered
  • Engineering teams—how they’re built and motivated
  • Engineering growth—how it’s planned and managed All these elements require engineering thinking, in the language of markets, people, and change!

• Entrepreneurship as a Way of Life

When we train young people in entrepreneurship, we don’t train them to be adventurers—we train them to think methodically, design consciously, and make informed decisions. We train them to be engineers of their lives, not just wanderers on an uncharted path. Entrepreneurship is not a leap—it’s a construction. Not chaos—but engineering! And anyone who wants to make an impact must master the art of design before igniting the spark of passion!

The Entrepreneurial Mindset

The success of any team—regardless of its field—relies fundamentally on two key factors:

  1. The team members: their diversity, strength, and creativity.
  2. The team leader and their leadership style.

If we consider the team and its actions as the strongest element, we must also be fully confident that the team leader is the vital force—without whom even the strongest element loses its value.

Thus, the synergy between these components forms a creative blend capable of producing remarkable and distinctive results.

The entrepreneurial mindset mirrors this dynamic precisely. An entrepreneur brings together a group of individuals forming a unique, integrated team—one that cannot be replicated—led by a creative, professional, and artistic leader.

The diversity of people and tasks within the entrepreneurial mindset constitutes the strong team—the core element of success and achievement. Yet, it is the methodology of managing these individuals that leaves a truly unique imprint.

This diversity is a testament to the richness of skills and capabilities across various domains. However, the real wealth lies in the proper investment of these available potentials. Smart investment is what enables exceptional outcomes and a distinctive mark in the business world.

Therefore, the entrepreneurial mindset is composed of the entrepreneur’s skills and capabilities, and the way these are managed. Together, they form the entrepreneur’s signature. The more this signature is enriched with experiences, projects, and relationships, the more effective it becomes. True success may lie in how these components are harmoniously integrated.

To achieve success, these elements must operate in a highly organized manner—much like a musical ensemble. A structure that leaves no room for error, lest dissonance disrupts the melody.

The entrepreneurial mindset is a holistic state—blending work, art, music, and sports. The more interconnected and refined it is, the greater its capacity for achievement and leaving a unique imprint.

But why is the mindset the essential element of achievement? Because it is the engine that drives all other components into motion.

And the more intricate and multidimensional the mindset—filled with calculus equations, physics concepts, and logical reasoning—the closer it gets to perfection.

Flexibility in Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship is driven by a wide array of features and bold ideas that reflect the reality of the experience. Yet, flexibility stands at the forefront of its core attributes—it is undoubtedly one of its most defining traits.

An entrepreneur possesses a high degree of flexibility, enabling them to adapt to changing circumstances, generate new ideas, or reshape old ones to meet evolving market demands. Flexibility, in essence, is about the speed and effectiveness of responding to change, which lies at the heart of entrepreneurship. Without it, one cannot align with shifts or flow with them in a way that yields meaningful and outstanding results.

If we were to describe flexibility in another word, fluidity would be the most fitting. It powerfully expresses the ability to go with the flow and move in harmony with it, achieving goals and remarkable outcomes as if they were part of a unified whole.

Fluidity means moving with the current and merging with it, transforming fragmented elements into a cohesive entity—one that gains strength and the capacity to deliver exceptional results. Thus, fluidity represents the ideal state of flexibility.

Flexibility manifests at various levels: in interactions with the team, in dealing with clients, and across different layers of management and planning. The integration of these levels is what creates true fluidity.

Therefore, flexibility is a cornerstone of entrepreneurship. It is the entrepreneur’s lifelong companion and should be one of the first qualities to be tested before launching any venture. It precedes the idea, the capital, and all other project components. It is a fundamental part of the entrepreneurial mindset—if not its very essence.

The First Idea

“The first idea in entrepreneurship is undoubtedly the source of all subsequent ideas.”
The first idea in entrepreneurship—by which I mean the idea behind the first project—plays a major role in shaping the ideas that follow, namely future projects.
The first idea usually emerges from a need or even an illusion of addressing a certain issue we assume to exist. During the process of addressing that issue—meaning while launching the project and working on it—the core ideas begin to crystallize around the most successful concept. And that, in essence, is what entrepreneurship is all about.
You may start with a small cart selling a few products, only to end up with an office offering a wide range of services!
The goal of the first idea is to shape the entrepreneur’s thinking in terms of management, leadership, execution, and project development. Every refinement or development of the initial idea serves as a process of sharpening and evolving that entrepreneurial mindset.
Therefore, we must agree on a very essential point: new ideas do not necessarily mean discarding old ones. New ideas may replace the old ones, or they may run alongside them—transforming from a single project idea into a collection of project ideas. And the successful entrepreneur is the one who can manage them all.
Managing a group of projects or ideas is a brilliant and ideal embodiment of the entrepreneurial mindset!
So, the first idea in entrepreneurship is the fountain from which all later ideas flow. It is the foundation upon which other ideas are built. And the more effort and continuity invested in developing that mindset, the more likely future ideas will succeed and leave a unique mark in the world of ideas, business, and entrepreneurship.

Why Invest?

Investment: The Perfect Fusion of Creativity and Innovation!

The essence of investment lies in its ability to emerge from both creativity and innovation.

Creativity is about finding ways to generate profits without starting a full-fledged project from scratch, while innovation involves identifying how to maximize these profits by leveraging an existing, successful, and thriving business—strengthening it to unlock even greater financial potential.

This, in essence, might be the pinnacle of creativity!

In today’s world, where innovative ideas dominate the business landscape—introducing solutions tailored to market needs—investment stands as the ultimate choice for generating returns and building wealth.

It represents the most effective way to embody the modern work culture, where true creative power lies in selecting the optimal investment—one capable of delivering unprecedented and unexpected gains!

But what is the ideal investment that can truly elevate us to a whole new level?

Without a doubt, it is an investment in mindset—the mindset of the entrepreneur in whom we place our trust (and funds) to cultivate and expand their vision! This is the most powerful investment, capable of achieving astonishing, unforeseen results.

Why? Simply because I firmly believe that many failed projects did not just struggle due to a lack of funding or market demand—these are merely surface-level reasons. The true underlying issue often lies in the entrepreneur’s mindset—their approach to leadership, strategy, and execution.

Thus, investment can be defined as the art of generating returns through visionary thinking—the ability to identify and nurture the right entrepreneurial mindset capable of turning ideas into thriving businesses effortlessly.

The Right Opportunity

It is essential to agree on the idea that startups aim to transform into large projects at the right time, particularly when the right opportunity arises. This is the case for all projects that began from scratch or from very modest resources and worked to grow themselves out of nothing.

It is certain that most projects do not succeed, and only a few achieve success, sustainability, and reach the right opportunity. Despite the various reasons behind the failure of entrepreneurial projects—chief among them being the mindset of the project’s founder—the projects that succeed and continue deserve to seize a remarkable and great opportunity.

The foundation upon which a project is built, which is the cornerstone capable of preserving the project, developing it, and achieving outstanding results, is undoubtedly the mindset of the entrepreneur! Having the right mindset enables the entrepreneur to strengthen the other foundations, such as the idea and funding.

Thus, correct investment is not based solely on the projects themselves but is primarily built on people and their way of thinking, which is undoubtedly the key differentiating factor!

At Hosa Wa Nos we possess the essential components that have enabled us to sustain our startup, build a strong brand, and maintain our achievements and results. We firmly believe that the perfect opportunity is very close! We are striving toward it as it strives toward us, and it is only a matter of a very short time until we meet it!

It is crucial to pay attention to an essential point: the mindset required for the right opportunity may not align with the mindset needed for establishment and building. Here lies the role of intellectual flexibility in the mindset, which must stem from specific, key points that form the general framework of the project.

Possessing an entrepreneurial mindset, intellectual flexibility, a strong and sustainable project, and a powerful brand are undoubtedly the foundations for creating the ideal opportunity.

The multiplicity of services provided

Perhaps the competition today has become very tough within the labor market, as the points of competition are close, and the differences between companies that offer similar products are very little and almost non-existent!

However, this issue remains very important in achieving positive results for companies!

For this, companies are racing to achieve a competitive advantage over their counterparts, and one of the points of competition that companies can follow is providing new services, and enhancing customer awareness in meeting their needs!

Certainly, the new additions must be within the same line of the products, otherwise the company’s identity will be lost.

In Hosa wa nos,

We care about this point, and focus on achieving high competitiveness, and we work to achieve integration between our services, and to meet the desires of customers. We expand the circle of services that go in the same line of work of the company, and thus we target wider customer segments, and we serve customers and achieve integration for the customer, by securing a wide package of his needs within our business field.

We started with the cleaning service, and within five years a wide range of related services, sterilization, home maintenance of all kinds (electricity, plumbing, furniture, walls, curtains, etc.) were added, all the way to the furniture transportation service.

In this way, we have achieved a wide range of our customers’ needs, thus increasing customer loyalty to our brand.

And within the upcoming plans, there is still a wide package of services that will be added, to increase efficiency, competitiveness, and achieve more customer needs.

Work stopped due to crises

There is no doubt that in natural disasters or in case of wars, crises and political conflicts, the economic movement stops and almost completely ends!

The main cause for this condition is the shock as a result of the new state, which is at its greatest in the first period, then it soon turns into a normal stage and a natural matter that society and people coexist with!

But the permanent and important question remains, will we stand in the face of the emergency?

Certainly, the first few days following the new state will be filled with stillness, lethargy, and sequential shocks.

Whoever manages to get up first and try to get back to work and understands the new condition will be the first to benefit!

The benefit manifests in two aspects:

  1. Return to work.
  2. Coming up with new ideas as a result of the new situation.

For example, three years ago when COVID-19 pandemic started, after the phase was absorbed, we added the sterilization service as a response to the new urgent need as a result of the new stage.

Now, after the earthquake, and after absorbing the new phase, and as a response to meet the new urgent needs, we have strengthened our transportation and maintenance services, although they are new services within the company, and the launch plan for these services was spread over a longer period of time, but as a result of emergency, we activated them widely to meet the new demand.

Life goes on, no matter what the new emergency is, and with each new situation, the needs differ and transform.

As long as life continues, strength and success are achieved when we are able to contain the new situation and deal with it professionally, and give new creative solutions to the new needs generated.

We are keen to play our role as a leading company within the community, and we seek to secure solutions and meet the needs within our scope of work.
